We arrived at Bear Den Campground on the Blue Ridge Parkway at Spruce Pine, NC and were all set up by 4:00pm. This is the fifth time we have been here but never at this time of year. The trees are just beginning to leaf out so you can see the views through the trees. When we have been here before, we have had to stop at overlooks to see the mountains and valleys.
John has a new Blackstone griddle and he was anxious to use it. We had breakfast for supper. He was happy to be back in his favorite site here. It is early in the season and there are not many campers here. Very quiet except when the wind blows. I can’t tell if it is roaring or howling!
Springtime in the Blue Ridge Mountains is one of my favorite things. Hope you get to see the Mt. Laurel bloom before you leave the area.
They usually bloom in June.
